Anna Bevan Costume Designer /Buyer

I'm a London-based costume designer and buyer with over 20 years of experience in film, TV and commercials. My work spans design, sourcing and research for productions of all sizes, with a particular focus on the buying side in recent years.

I'm especially interested in sustainable approaches to sourcing, whether that’s through thrifting, working with small independent brands (UK and international), or finding creative ways to reuse and repurpose. I’ve brought that approach to projects including Amazon’s The Wheel of Time (Seasons 2 and 3) and Apple’s Prime Target.

I love the research side of what I do,whether that’s tracking down just the right designer for a contemporary brief, or digging into historical details for period work. That attention to detail underpins everything I do, from early concept through to final fittings.

I first got into the industry working alongside Martin Adams, producing props, jewellery and accessories for film and theatre. Later I created my own line of jewellery and belts, which were sold in places like Liberty, Barneys NY, A La Mode and Neiman Marcus, and featured in publications including Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and The Sunday Times.

As a costume designer, I’ve worked across independent film, music and commercial campaigns:  including Julien Temple’s Crock of Gold: A Few Rounds with Shane MacGowan  always with a strong eye for materials, texture and character.
